How much beef is in a half beef share?
A half beef share yields 1/2 of a beef which provides you with approximately 160 - 200 lbs of frozen beef from the whole animal.
Your beef share will be delivered sometime in September to November depending on when your animal is in prime condition. A half beef share will take up approximately 14-16 cubic feet in a freezer. You will be contacted when the beef goes to the butcher regarding custom cutting options.
A half beef share costs $4.25/lb for the beef based on the hanging weight of the carcass before being cut and wrapped (the cut and wrapped weight is about 65% of the hanging weight) PLUS $1.15/lb butchering fee.
